wasp control
nest & colony destruction £65
Additional nest, treated during the same visit: £30
Re-treating a wasp nest: if the treatment is not 100% effective, it will be retreated free of charge!
Dead nest removal: The Waspman® will quote to return and safely remove the fabric of the nest and dead insects which, as a guide, is likely to be around £45.
Although you can dispose of a previously treated wasp or hornet nest yourself with a large plastic rubbish bag and a vacuum cleaner, there are two critical safety considerations that you must bear in mind.
1: To avoid stings (and potential swarming!), you must ensure that all members of the colony have been eradicated before approaching the nest.
2: Most importantly, the treated nest will contain a significant quantity of professional strength insecticide, in powder form, which is extremely hazardous if inhaled. This is why you MUST wear a respirator or, at a minimum, an N-95 rated dust mask. . .  a simple 'Covid' surgical mask does not provide sufficient protection.
Because the dead nest (whilst composed almost entirely of bio-degradable fibre), is highly contaminated, it is NOT suitable for composting and should be sealed into black bags and disposed of in an authorised landfill. The dead insects can be vacuumed up and added to the same contaminated waste bags.
